Reinvented Interactive Environment
About the Research
His research focuses on the possibilities of the transformation and
the representation of Chinese theory in landscape painting into a
reinvented interactive environment. My research project is into the
designing of interactive features for new public electronic play structures
in terms of their visual and audio aspects. It is anticipated that
such designs will improve the quality of the community and the leisure
environment of Hong Kong, and lead to the development of creative
designs for the product design and entertainment industries. The project
is an innovative project in applied research and design. It aims to
develop ways of mediating interactive movements through physical artifacts
(that is, light and sound), and to use video projections, interfaces,
and LED monitors to create environments for play and outdoor appreciation.
The detailed research objectives of the project are to: create concepts
for new digital products, services, and businesses study the relationship
among play, narratives, and physical artifacts create new concepts
for outdoor playgrounds develop concepts for outdoor interactive play
environments with local characteristics and narrative content develop
outdoor events with digital aesthetics for public space develop innovative
ideas and prototypes resulting in new knowledge, applications and
findings that will have a positive impact on society identify future
opportunities for cooperation with the business, cultural, social,
educational, and public sectors in Hong Kong and mainland China enable
citizens to dynamically and interactively experience public playgrounds,
leisure areas, and open spaces (including outdoor and indoor environments)
by using media/electronic applications
