Shifting Identities

About the Research
"Shifting Identities" is an exploration of how media (e.g. film, television, photography, Internet) and migration affect [contested] concepts of identity and ethnicity. This research will analyze visual representations of difference in media and explore how institutional structures (political and representational) affect knowledge about cultural difference. The author is interested in examining concepts of diaspora and cultural hybridity as models of integrating pluralistic views and plans to compare historical and current forms of media and art as communication tools and exhibitions for these views.
